F.A.Q. – Insect Screen

1) Can the insect screen really be fixed without screws or dowels?

Yes, our custom-made insect screens take advantage of a new technology that will allow you to install this innovative product without having to drill holes in the walls and without using drills and dowels. The installation of insect screens is very simple and can be easily done by following our videos and assembly instructions. The expansion fastening allows installation only with the aid of an Allen key already supplied in the kit which will allow total and resistant adherence of the profiles to the wall.

2) I would like to buy your insect screen but I am not sure about the depth of the cassette. What is the minimum depth required for the installation of the cassette?

The producer is the first one to provide all the information regarding the dimensions of the following insect screens: vertical roll-up; horizontal roll-up with low bottom track. In this way, the costumer can decide whether it is possible or not to assembly the insect screen he wants to buy and be sure of its functionality. 

A minimum available depth of 46mm is required for installation of the vertical mosquito screens. On the other hand, a minimum available depth of 60mm is required for horizontal mosquito screens with low bottom track.
 

3) Is the insect screen safe? Is the performance granted over time?

Vertical and horizontal roll-up insect screen is a safe and long-lasting product. The expansion in height and width by Allen screws is the strength of this model which allows you to have guarantees on performance over time and not to ruin the window opening with drill holes and dowels. 
 

4) I see that horizontal mosquito screens with one panel generally have the cassette positioned on the left. Is it possible to mount it on the right? How can I do?

Yes, it is possible. The assembly instructions indicate how to proceed if you want to position the cassette on the right.

5) Can the horizontal insect screens be opened both from the inside and from the outside?

Yes, our horizontal insect screens are equipped with a handle both on the side that faces inside the house and on the one that faces outside.
 

6) In case of an “out-of-square” situation, can I still assembly the insect screen?

Expansion insect screens can partially retrieve possible mistakes made while taking measurements or because of “out-of-square” situations. More precisely, vertical roll-up insect screens can retrieve about 1,5 cm in width and about 1 cm in height, while horizontal roll-up insect screens with a low bottom track can retrieve about 1 cm in width and about 1 cm in height. 
 

7) How much can I retrieve, when it comes to cutting mistakes?

Expansion insect screens can partially retrieve possible mistakes made while cutting aluminium profiles (cassette, guides…).
More precisely, vertical roll-up insect screens can retrieve between 1 and 1,5 cm in width and 1 cm in height, while horizontal roll-up insect screens with low bottom track can retrieve about 1 cm in width and 1 cm in height.

8) Can I get a sample of the frame colour?

No, it is not possible to have a sample of the frame colour. However, the colours belong to the RALchart whose colour card is easily available in hardware or on the internet.

9) Do I have to deduct tolerances, when I insert the dimensions of my window opening?

No, when the dimensions of the window / French door opening are inserted, it is not necessary to calculate any tolerance as this is already done by us during the production in order to allow you a simple and safe assembly. Attention: if the dimensions of the opening differ by a few millimeters, remember to always provide the smallest size. For more information visit our page How to Take Measurements.

11) Can an order already placed be changed or supplemented?

Once your order has been confirmed, it only be possible to change it within 2 days from the order confirmation date.

12) How does the delivery process work?

Once the courier has received your order, you will also be provided with the tracking number, which allows you to track the shipment.

13) Is it possible to install the insect screen also on walls with exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS)?

Generally speaking, these insect screens should also fit on walls with EIFS-sides as long as they have a rough and solid surface.

However, whether it is possible or not depends on the structure of the exterior insulation finishing system itself as the assembly system requires a certain pressure on the sides of the window opening. Consequently, if the material and structure is particularly solid, the insect screen should attach without problems. However, if the structure were not solid, the pressure exerted would risk creating depressions as the exterior insulation finishing material would not withstand the pressure of the mechanism.
